Marilyn Guzman graduated from the University of North Texas with a Bachelors Degree in Converged Broadcast Media. During her time as a student, she became very involved with the university’s Television channel – NTTV. She was the co-anchor of the channel’s live Spanish newscast and producer of the live nightly newscast in English.
Having always had an interest for the entertainment side of television, Marilyn soon became the Executive producer of the only Spanish entertainment show in the Denton area. By the end of the school year, she had become show’s very own host.
After graduating UNT, Marilyn landed her first job as a video journalist for the Texas regional newscast for the Azteca Dallas 55 network, and she is now the Texas reporter for the National Newscast “HECHOS Tardes” and their nightly news . TV Azteca is one out of the two largest producers of Spanish language content in the world.
Marilyn Guzman is also the host of “Contacto55” a locally based, two minute segment where different leaders and business owners of the community are interviewed. Marilyn has also participated as a host in “Solucion Azteca,” a free national 15-hour live phone bank that provides expert advice and answers in Spanish on a variety of featured topics, such as Health, Education, Finance and Politics.
